I think that humans should sight their source on renewable fuels. With renewable fuels it won't matter if we have or don't have fossil fuels because of renewable energy. A 71% reduction in fossil fuel consumption would lead to a reduction of just under a quarter (24%) of man made global warming. I think what wind energy, energy given off currants and sun. Sooner or later the earth is going to run out of fossil fuels for us to use and we will be sorry. All people are dependent on fossil fuels for transportation, heating, cooling, packaging materials and a lot of other things in life burning fossil fuel releases greenhouse gases which cause global warming, also extraction of these fuels alter the environment. Burning fossil fuels is one of many contributors to climate change.

Coal
Coal is a combustible black rock composed mostly of carbon and hydrocarbons. It is the most abundant fossil fuel produced in the United States. Coal is 50% carbon. About 95% of the coal used in the United States is used for electricity. The rest of the coal is used as a basic energy source. The major uses of coal are for industry and electric power.
